The basketball team competed against the best school teams in the county on Friday.
Firstly, the opening ceremony showcased singing, international football freestylers and a street dancer before the children moved onto the Wildcats Arena for their competition.
The team can be really proud of what they achieved by finishing 5th in the County!

What a great day today! 16 children took part in the annual Primary Games, where the top 8 performing schools in Ashfield faced off in sporting competitions throughout the day.
Having qualified by finishing 4th in the primary medal table and gaining the 2nd highest medal haul overall, we looked forward to celebrating a fantastic year of sporting competition at Edgewood by competing with similar schools.
Edgewood Sports Week is flying by fast! During Wednesday and Thursday we have had children involved in dance, ultimate frisbee, hockey, new age kurling and badminton! In addition, KS1 children participated and were awarded silver in the Multi-skills competition on Tuesday!
Edgewood Sports Week -
The weather held off today and allowed the children to enjoy the sunshine as well as the activities on offer.
Y5/6 enjoyed a day of climbing and slacklining. A lot of children faced their fears on the climbing wall, whether going up or putting their feet over the edge on the way down! Slacklining proved to be really popular, as children were finding interesting ways to gracefully dismount the tightrope! During some downtime, the children even managed to involve Mr Tidd in a competitive game of Nine Square!
A fine effort by the Edgewood Boccia team on Monday afternoon. 3rd place in the district final. Great work!
Thank you to all of the family members and friends that sponsored pupils to take part in the Sport Relief Mile last week. Every child took part in the charity walk/jog/run/roll/skip. In addition, we had a very colourful school with cricketers, footballers, swimmers and even boxers represented on the day!
So far (donations are still coming in), the total for our school has reached over £1,500. An incredible total!
The Hucknall Junior Park Run goes live @ 9am on 27/3 at Titchfield Park - then every Sunday for under 14s. More information can be found at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/hucknall-juniors/
Year 5/6 children have been studying 'The Arrival' by Shaun Tan in Themed Study and have produced some lovely letters describing the events...
Congratulations to the Dance Team for their excellent performances at the Gym and Dance Festival held at National Academy today.
