How to help your child with phonics.

At Edgewood Primary School we follow the Monster Phonics programme to support children in their developing reading and writing skills.  Monster Phonics uses visual clues based on a coloured coded system to engage children – the children love learning all about the monsters and they sounds they represent. 

This programme will be launched in Foundation at the very start of your child’s phonics journey, and continues through to the end of Key Stage 1.  Phonics is such an important part of our curriculum, it is taught daily and it builds the foundation of children’s reading and writing.
