Our School Day

The school gates are unlocked at 8:50am (8:45am for Nursery / Reception Gate).  Gates are open from 8:50am to just after 9am for you to drop your child off.  The school day does not officially start until 9am so this allows you to drop your child off at anytime within this 10 minutes.  This helps spread out any crowding and ensure a calm and purposeful start to the school day for all our pupils.

Reception and Nursery parents come in through the gate to drop their children off but all other year groups are dropped off at the gate please. This ensures our playground is a safe and uncrowded space for our pupils and they are not having to negotiate large groups of adults to enter the building.

School starts at 9:00am when registers will be taken in each class. If your child arrives after the gates are closed(around 9:02), please enter the school via the front office to make sure they are signed in.

You are welcome to dropp all your children off at a single gate.  Please just take all your children to the gate for your youngest child and the older ones can walk through the playground to join their class in complete safety.

Please remember you do not need to drop your child off at 8:50am - as long as they are in by 9am they are on time.

Each school day is 6 and a half hours long giving a total of 32.5 hours each week.
 
If your child is going to be absent please notify the office by 9.00am via telephone or Scholarpack App.  There is a dedicated answerphone where you can leave a message.
 
If they are going to be collected from school early for an appointment (please bring the appointment letter or card so it can recorded correctly), please notify the office as soon as possible (0115 956 1337).
