Y5/6 Residential - Day 1

Y5/6 Residential - Day 1:

What a long day! Both staff and children are ready for sleep!

After jumping on the bus this morning, we have had an action packed day! We started with a trip to the National Coal Mining Museum, where we got covered in coal from underground and had a browse at the different methods of coal mining through the ages! After lunch, we continued the journey to our final destination - Kingswood! On arrival, we were greeted by enthusiastic staff and welcomed to the site. With luggage accounted for, the children were sent off to their dorms to start making their beds........after some time, this was achieved (to a certain degree) and we were ready for our first activities of the residential. After this, we had a lovely dinner of Spaghetti Bolognese or Chicken Fajitas (or a mixture of both!) and headed off for a whole school version of Mini Olympics. Children are soundly off to sleep and staff are preparing for the early rise tomorrow morning, before we complete 7 more activities!
