Children in Red and Green class watched a video clip about London streets in 1903 to help them understand life 100 years ago. As a group they have looked at modern day photographs of soldiers, medals, poppies and Flanders Fields. To encourage their questioning and understanding everyone made two different pictures of Flanders Fields. The 1915 picture involved using different shades of charcoal, creating a dark and eerie picture. The 2015 picture represented a green field with an array of brighlty coloured poppies. During the day the children were also able to involve themselves in different related activities. This work has supported our 'respecting corner' which we used during the observed 2 minutes silence.
