Red and Green class were lucky to have a visit from Hucknall firefighters. We looked at a powerpoint about keeping safe, talked about smoke alarms and how to 'stop, drop and roll' if clothes catch fire. The children learnt the importance of learning their address and all about the uniform the firefighters wear. The visit was finished by a look at the fire engine. The children enjoyed the visit, so a big thank you to the firefighters for using their time to visit and anseer our many questions.
We had a lovely party in Nursery with lots of games, food and a special visit from Father Christmas. Every child received a present and we sang some songs for Santa.
Many thanks to parents that sent such delicious food and for sending such amazing children to join in with the Christmas fun.
The staff and helpers had a lovely time too.
Mrs Cable and the Nursery team.
Wew had our 3rd successful Christmas craft workshop this term. There was a great turnout with everyone making Rudolph hats, bird feeders and a decorated biscuit. We had great fun and worked very hard at the same time.
Following the success of these workshops we will be starting some new workshops for foundation children and their parent/ carers in the New year. Our second Christmas workshop was another successful afternoon with a variety of activities. The adults and children made a variety of things including a giant windmill as a sign for Santa to stop here, a melting snowman biscuit and a door hanger. We sang and played together and showcased the work. We are all getting into the Christmas cheer. Most people were well and truly covered in glitter!
We talked about what the adults and children would like to do in their workshops after the Christmas break. We will share these ideas when we have made a decision.
